Clubhouse International seeks Project Officer for North Carolina Expansion Project

Full-time remote position

Clubhouse International is seeking a Project Officer for our North Carolina Expansion project to join the Clubhouse International staff team. Duties will be primarily focused on developing and implementing a planned five-year project to significantly expand the number of Accredited Clubhouses in North Carolina and strengthen existing Clubhouses in the state.

The NCPO will also work with individual North Carolina Clubhouses and the North Carolina Clubhouse Coalition to continuously improve the positive impact of Clubhouses for people living with mental Illness.

The NCPO will work with known and yet to be known partners and community leaders to educate, engage and advocate - to create grassroots community support and involvement, and other Clubhouse programs/groups that will cultivate and acquire support and funding for existing and new Clubhouse programs in the state.

The Project Officer position is a contracted position planned for five years, full-time remote position reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. Occasional evening, weekend hours and day travel is required.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong work ethic and an outgoing and dynamic personality.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least 3-4 years of related experience in community organizing and/or related work (Master’s degree is a plus)
  • Preference of a minimum of two years’ experience as an employee of an Accredited Clubhouse
  • Familiar with North Carolina mental health system
  • A self-starter with very strong organizational and attention to detail skills as well as independent time management skills
  • Strong personal drive and desire to achieve results
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote organization
  • Excellent oral, writing and presentation skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed or assigned for work
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workflow and meet deadlines
  • Ability to represent the organization and interface with all levels of staff, board, volunteers, provider agencies and representatives of member Clubhouses while maintaining a professional, diplomatic, tactful and helpful attitude and behavior
  • Ability to travel independently and be away from home for occasionally required travel
  • Ability to protect individual and organizational confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Google, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, common social media outlets and programs and data-base management
  • Willingness and ability to learn new software and systems
  • Willingness and ability to work as part of a team including maintaining successful work relationships with peers, colleagues and constituents
