Jennifer Johnson-Calari
Board Member
Jennifer is retired from the World Bank and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Crown Agents Bank, a UK commercial bank active in frontier and emerging market countries in Africa and SouthEast Asia. At the World Bank (1990-2013), Jennifer was a portfolio manager in the Treasury but, more importantly, began and led a program to build investment management capacity in central banks in over 70 countries around the world—from Mozambique to Korea. This provided an understanding of institution-building in different cultures and also how to leverage limited resources for the greatest impact.
In the non-profit world, Jennifer served as Treasurer and non-executive director on the Board of Capital Clubhouse, Washington DC from 2015 to December 2020. During this time, she became an enthusiastic supporter of the Clubhouse model through visits to Clubhouses in Milwaukee, NY, Baltimore, Milan and, most recently, Bologna. She also serves on the board of Cat Island United and its supporting organization, Friends of Cat Island United, which is a grass roots community organization engaged in environmental preservation and youth leadership.
Jennifer has an MA from Johns Hopkins SAIS, a mid-career degree from Harvard General Management Program and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. She is a US national married to an Italian, Cesare. They have a daughter, Livia, who is an aspiring architect in NYC. Cesare and Jennifer live and work both in the US and Italy and have a winter home on Cat Island.
