The Clubhouse Accreditation Process Overview

Accreditation is a research-based quality assurance program designed to ensure successful outcomes for Clubhouses and their members. Achieving and maintaining Accreditation is a requirement for a Clubhouse's membership in Clubhouse International.
New Clubhouses (start-up or converting from a different service approach) are required to complete the Accreditation process within four years of becoming a member of Clubhouse International. This four-year timeframe allows sufficient opportunity to receive consultation, implement the Standards for Clubhouse Programs™, and participate in comprehensive Clubhouse training.
Returning Clubhouses will work with Clubhouse International to plan and schedule their next Accreditation as part of rejoining. Please note that the Accreditation calendar typically books 12 to 16 months in advance.
The Accreditation process is both evaluative and consultative. Accreditation is awarded for either a one- or three-year period, subject to the degree of adherence by the Clubhouse to the International Standards for Clubhouse Programs™. It is conducted by members of the Clubhouse International Faculty, which is composed of veteran members and staff from Accredited Clubhouses around the world.
