Job Summary: Clubhouse Program Director

The Clubhouse Program Director provides leadership, vision and direction to the Clubhouse community in pursuit of its mission. The Program Director is responsible for program development, administration, staffing, budget administration, public relations and the overall productivity, supervision and distribution of work to Clubhouse staff to assure compliance, timeliness, and the provision of quality program services. The Program Director is responsible for the active recruitment of eligible Clubhouse members from the community.  as well as publicly representing the mission and vision of the Clubhouse.

This position exists to assist Snohomish County adults with serious mental illness to maximize their optimal level of functioning within the community.  This engagement is performed by helping members to experience the sense of belonging, with a focus on their strengths, talents and interests with adherence to the Clubhouse Program model and standards.

Primary Job Functions:

• Uphold and implement operational procedures based on the mission, goals, objectives, and policies of Bridgeways and the Bridgeways Clubhouse.
• Oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of the Clubhouse.
• Recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and separation (as needed), of all Clubhouse staff.
• Successful management of the annual budget development and monitoring process and the ongoing financial activities of the Clubhouse.
• Provide all required reports and information to government and funding source organizations.
• Maintain all required licenses and certifications.
• Keep informed about issues in the general community relevant to the mission and operations of the Clubhouse.
• Support the Bridgeways Director of Development in fund development and fundraising activities for the Clubhouse.
• Networks, coordinates and develops collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders
• Leads ongoing public relations activities, outreach, and community engagement for the Clubhouse.
• Prepare for and attend board meetings and board committee meetings.  Coordinate communication between the Clubhouse and members of the board including timely communication to the Board and all required organizations of any serious incidents, issues or concerns.
• Obtaining and maintaining Clubhouse Accreditation from Clubhouse International.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends as needed.

• Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology, sociology, social work or related human service field, master’s Preferred
• Prefer prior training in Trauma Informed Care

Position Opening: Executive Director, Clubhouse of St. Joseph County, South Bend Indiana  

The Clubhouse of St. Joseph County, located in South Bend, Indiana is seeking an Executive  Director. The Executive Director is responsible for working in partnership with the Board of Directors, Members Staff and community leaders to achieve the mission and goals of The Clubhouse.

The Clubhouse of St Joseph County is six years old, has purchased and renovated a building and currently is debt free, accredited by clubhouse international ( 3 yr)  and bills medicaid thru the state of Indiana medicaid code.

Our goal is to have have 50% of our budget come from non government funds. ¾ of a million annual budget,  5 TFE’s.  We are active in Clubhouse Indiana Coalition.   Our precovid annual budget is approx 650K.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Psychosocial Clubhouse Director is responsible for the functioning, day-to-day organization and supervision of staff and members of the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse Director ensures that the program meets all DCH, Medicaid, and other relevant accreditation standards. This person monitors the Clubhouse budget to ensure that expenditures do not exceed funding and that data and requested information are submitted in a timely manner. Assists in leading work units when needed and leads as a role model to maintain philosophy and principles of the Clubhouse. Oversees the development of the transitional employment program and supervises all staff to ensure that PSR services and work units are meeting needs of members. Designs social and vocational supports for members including evening and weekend programming.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:       Possess a bachelor’s degree in human services with a major relevant to psychosocial programming.

Experience:     Three years of professional experience with persons with mental illness with one year as a supervisor responsible for supervising a mental health program.  Meet requirements of discipline in accordance with DCH and CMH standard and the Credentialing Committee.  Lived experiences with behavioral health issues are valued.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.              Attends training to become familiar with the philosophy and standards of the Clubhouse in order to communicate and provide leadership to staff members.

2.              Implements the Clubhouse Model of Psychosocial Rehabilitation by providing leadership to staff and members in developing the work ordered day, PSR services and adhering to Clubhouse Standards.

3.              Assists in recruitment and hiring of staff.  Responsible for supervision of all staff working in the Clubhouse.

4.              Assigns and delegates staff to participate in agency committees and action teams.

5.              Manages the day-to-day operation of the Clubhouse and makes final decisions affecting Clubhouse staff and members.

6.              Coordinates necessary training for Clubhouse staff to ensure knowledge of Clubhouse Standards and principles of psychosocial rehabilitation.

7.              Responsible for the compliance with agency requirements, Clubhouse standards, and other requirements to meet DCH contract and accreditation standards.

8.              Coordinates the development and maintenance of TEP opportunities within the Clubhouse budget and with additional resources through cash match agreements with MRS and other grants.  Coordinates transitional employment services with the Supported Employment Program.

9.              Coordinates transportation needs of the program.  May on occasion assist in transporting members.

10.           Functions as agency manager and supervisor participating in meetings and contributing to administrative tasks as assigned.

11.           Provides instruction and oversight to staff in clinical documentation requirements and reporting of service activity in accordance with agency policy, procedure and Medicaid requirements.

12.           Monitors staff activity and the quality and appropriateness of services provided.

13.           Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

14.           Maintains confidentiality of service recipients in accordance with HIPAA Privacy Laws and 42 C.F.R., Part 2.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: This is a professional level direct service position with the members of Bellevue clubhouse as the primary recipients of services. The Supported Employment Director provides psychiatric rehabilitation services to adults recovering from serious mental illness in a clubhouse model program and oversees operation of Supported Employment Program. This position exists to assist King County adults with serious mental illness to maximize their optimal level of functioning within the community.

Provides oversight to the IPS (Individual Placement and Support) supported employment program. Ensures positive program outcomes by providing training, supervision, and by working side-by-side with employment specialists (field mentoring). Attempts to meet most people who receive IPS services. Monitors outcomes and implements quality improvement plans. Acts as a liaison to other departments and agencies. Supervises employment specialists. Provides IPS supported employment services for a caseload of two or three people.

The responsibilities include sharing in the operation of Bellevue clubhouse's programs. These programs include the work ordered day, social/recreational program, employment programs and education programs. Central to this responsibility is the engagement of members in all aspects of clubhouse operation. This engagement is performed by helping members experience a sense of belonging, with a focus on their strengths, talents, and interests.

The SE Director is responsible to, and supervised by the Chief Program Officer of HERO House NW.

Primary Job Functions

• Conducts weekly group supervision following the principles of IPS supported employment
• Provides individual supervision for employment generalists (office-based sessions and field mentoring)
• Collects outcomes on a monthly basis: develops written plans for improvement
• Communicates regularly with mental health agencies to ensure that services are integrated, to resolve issues, and to act as a proponent for emplpyment
• Works with DVR to coordinate services: requests monthly meetings between Vocational Rehabilitation counselors and IPS team members to discuss how to help people served by both agencies
• Arranges for IPS supported employment fidelity reviews: assists with the development of fidelity action plans based on recommendations from the fidelity report
• Leads or participates in steering committee meetings regarding IPS supported employment implementation and sustainability
• Provides IPS supported employment services to a caseload of two to three people
• Other duties as assigned

Education/ Training/ Experience

• Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling or related field is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Previous experience in the mental health field is desired (for IPS programs serving people with serious mental illness)
• Previous supervisory experience is valued.

Training Services Coordinator

Genesis Club, a nationally recognized rehabilitative community dedicated to helping people recover from serious mental illness, is hiring its next Training Services Coordinator.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, innovative organization that is helping to change how the world responds to people living with serious mental health conditions.

This full-time position oversees the scheduling, bookings, and logistics of our International Training Center in the Clubhouse Model of Rehabilitation. Key responsibilities include building relationships with Clubhouse colleagues around the world and identifying emerging training needs, overseeing the upkeep of the training center guest house, and collaborating with Clubhouse International and other Training Centers. This position is embedded in one of our 6 work units so that all work is done side-by-side with Clubhouse members to further their rehabilitation and recovery.  The Training Services Coordinator also participates in other aspects of Clubhouse services. 

A Bachelor's degree is required. Experience working at an accredited Clubhouse is strongly preferred. Shore House was founded in 2010 to help Monmouth County residents living with a serious mental illness lead a productive and satisfying life. Following the International Clubhouse model, Shore House is a local, independent 501(c)(3) non-profit seeking a social practitioner for a June 2022 start date.

 Purpose of the Position:

This is a full-time position. Working hours are assigned by the Executive Director and Program Director and generally standard business hours Monday through Friday, including some holidays. However, occasional nights and weekends may be required if holidays fall on a weekend.

The Social Practitioner will work in partnership with staff and members in the daily operation of the Clubhouse employment, education, advocacy, and wellness programs. The Social Practitioner is responsible for engaging members in all activities that keep the community going while achieving recovery goals.

• Participate in all aspects of the Clubhouse by providing leadership and direction by working side by side with members

TITLE:    Clubhouse Associate Director                                                               The Carriage House

JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate Directoris a professional position with The Carriage House, providing services for adults with mental illnesses in accordance with the Clubhouse International standards. The Associate Director will work with the Executive Director to manage all Clubhouse programs, and ensure the highest quality Clubhouse Model program.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. ADMINISTRATION:

• Implement and ensure the practice of the Clubhouse philosophy and standards for Clubhouse International accreditation.
• Assist Executive Director in the hiring, orientation and training of new personnel, practicum students, and volunteers.
• Assist Executive Director in the fiscal management of the Clubhouse.
• Manage Medicaid billing procedures in compliance with state guidelines.
• Make decisions regarding the administrative functioning of The Carriage House in the absence of the Executive Director.

2. STAFF SUPERVISION

• Assist Executive Director in conducting annual evaluations of program staff performance.
• Provide feedback to staff individually and collectively to build cooperative teams.
• Ensure timely completion of, and reviewing and signing, clinical documentation as needed.

3.     SUPERVISING FACILITATION OF CLUBHOUSE UNITS - Supervising and supporting unit staff and Team Leaders in the facilitation of Clubhouse units, including:

• Planning, coordinating, and executing daily work alongside Clubhouse members.
• Working collaboratively with Clubhouse members to complete all Clubhouse work and tasks and creatively engaging members in the work of the Clubhouse.
• Organizing, executing, and participating in some evening, weekend, and holiday activities.
• Assisting members in accessing needed community services and supports.
• Providing outreach to members who have not been attending Clubhouse.
• Providing support for members in identifying and obtaining educational goals.
• Actively participating in fundraising efforts for the Clubhouse.

4. EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT

• Support members in reaching employment goals, including but not limited to working with members to develop resumes, prepare for interviews, and conduct job searches.
• Manage one or more Transitional Employment placements, which includes maintaining a relationship with the placement employer, learning the job responsibilities for the placement, training Clubhouse members in the job responsibilities, monitoring Clubhouse members in the placement, and providing coverage for the job when Clubhouse members are unavailable.
• Responsible for the development of Transitional and Supported employment opportunities.
• Assist the Executive Director in the management of Clubhouse employment programs.

5. OTHER MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Executive Director to build relationships with community partners to enhance the visibility and opportunities for clubhouse members.
• Participate in clubhouse conferences as a presenter and representative of Carriage House. 
• Assist Executive Director with reporting progress of the clubhouse to the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

PRIMARY ROLE(S):

• To promote Psychosocial Rehabilitation within a Clubhouse Model;

• Help individuals to identify career goals, develop job skills, search for employment opportunities, and write and submit application materials, including resumes and cover letters

• Advocates for community opportunities and links members to relevant opportunities
• Creates and displays job and education opportunities with motivational graphics and signage
• Coordinates the collection and data entry of member employment data in the agency’s electronic member health record to meet contractual and regulatory requirements

The Iris Clubhouse was founded in 2015 to help Natrona County residents experiencing mental illness lead productive and satisfying lives.  Following the International Clubhouse model, the Iris Clubhouse is a local, independent 501(c)(3) non-profit seeking an Executive Director.  As the leader of the organization, the Executive Director must be passionate, dynamic, and possess the ability to develop a long-range vision for the growth and success of the Iris Clubhouse. The Director should believe in the Clubhouse Standards as a means of recovery for adults living with a mental illness.

Organizational Leadership

In conjunction with the Board of Directors, staff and members, manage development of a strategic plan, with a focus on continued growth and expansion of programs and services.

Provide programmatic, development, financial, and administrative management with a vision for long term planning and increase in Iris Clubhouse’s community visibility.

Act as the primary liaison and communicate in a timely manner with the Board of Directors and prepare the agenda and packets of materials 

Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the Clubhouse

Manage and develop the annual budget with the assistance of the Board of Directors

Programmatic Leadership 

Oversee the development of daily programming by staff, volunteers and members.

Supervise and evaluate the staff and volunteers in the day-to-day operations of the Clubhouse. 

Recruit, hire, supervise, and collaborate with the Clubhouse staff and volunteers

Model the vision of the Iris Clubhouse in all relationships with members, staff, and board

Arranging and overseeing generalist also charged with overseeing transitional and supported employment opportunities

External Leadership

Provide presentations to community organizations on the Clubhouse model

Initiate and lead efforts in the community to educate on the Clubhouse Standards while reducing stigma and removing barriers for those living with mental illness.

Must lead a multi-faceted fundraising effort that includes securing government and private funds, planned giving, events and endowment opportunities. 

Serve as Iris Clubhouse’s primary spokesperson to constituents, the media, and the general public.

Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the Clubhouse mission.

Core Responsibilities

• Facilitate assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner, maximizing members’ skills, talents, engagement, and leadership.
• Plan and coordinate work to meet the needs of the Clubhouse and its Members.
• Complete paperwork as assigned, meeting all deadlines.
• Participate in the Clubhouse’s Transitional Employment Program (TE), paid jobs for Members in the community. Manage TE placements by learning the job; developing work relationships; choosing, training and supporting members on the job; and as a clubhouse work-priority, providing TE job coverage whenever necessary.
• Facilitate Supported, Independent and Educational opportunities for members in the community, as needed.
• Participate in Clubhouse social and community events as needed.
• Assist Members to develop and assess personal, employment, housing, and social goals and objectives.
• Provide education and support the use of community resources that promote well-being, self-determination, independence, satisfaction, self- sufficiency, and foster self-advocacy, including areas such as Financial Benefits, Community Support Services, Career Development, Mental and Physical Health, Job, Family, and Friends.
• Make presentations, and support member participation in presenting to the Clubhouse Community and International Seminars and Conferences.
• Provide training and support to new members, staff, interns, volunteers, and clubhouse colleagues as necessary.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The mission of Empowerment Clubhouse is to provide a safe and restorative community where individuals working toward mental health recovery become empowered through meaningful work and supportive relationships. Any individual over the age of 18 living with an acknowledged mental health challenge is eligible to become a member of the Clubhouse, and membership is free, voluntary, and without time–limit. Members of the Clubhouse have the opportunity to engage in meaningful work designed to help them regain self–worth, purpose and confidence, and receive social, pre–vocational, recreational, and educational support services. Empowerment Clubhouse currently operates units in Culinary, Gardening, Transformational Employment, Business and Clerical, and Member outreach. All the work completed in the Clubhouse is focused on the operation and enhancement of the Empowerment Clubhouse community, and the work tasks are designed to help members develop skills, self–sufficiency, and supportive relationships.

Empowerment Clubhouse structured based on the Clubhouse Model, which is included in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration’s (SAMHSA) National Registry of Evidence–Based Practices. Empowerment Clubhouse adheres to the 37 Quality Standards set forth by Clubhouse International. Responsibility

The Empowerment Clubhouse Program Director must be a passionate, dynamic, and committed individual who believes in the Clubhouse International Standards (See https://clubhouse-intl.org/resources/quality- standards/) as a means of recovery for adults living with a mental illness. The EC Program Director provides leadership and is responsible for the active recruitment of eligible Clubhouse members from the community and works closely with the Executive director in hiring, terminations and managing the employees of the Clubhouse.

General Duties

• Oversight, management, and participation of the day-to-day operations of the Clubhouse.
• Develop a Clubhouse Culture that is welcoming, safe and supportive for all. Actively work to create a more diverse, inclusive, and culturally responsive program.
• Responsible for encouraging Member ‘Active Status’, new Member Enrollments, and achieving overall enrollment goals.
• Participate with members and staff in collaborative decision–making process. Encourage members to take leadership roles in all Clubhouse operations.
• Provide weekly supervision and support to Program Coordinator.
• Attend Clubhouse social and recreational programs. Be available to work occasional weekend, evening, or holiday hours.
• Prepare for and attend Empowerment Clubhouse Advisory Board Meetings, weekly MCCDC staff meetings, and Clubhouse committee meetings, and serve as liaison between these entities and Clubhouse community.
• Recruitment, hiring, supervision and termination (as needed), of all Clubhouse staff in conjunction with the Executive Director.
• Successful management of the annual budget development and monitoring process and the ongoing financial activities of the Clubhouse with the Executive Director.
• Fund development and fundraising activities to enrich the wellbeing of the Clubhouse.
• Public Relations for the Clubhouse in conjunction with the Executive Director.
• Transitional Employment Development and Employer Relationships for the Clubhouse.
• Obtaining and maintaining Clubhouse Accreditation from the International Center for Clubhouse Development.
• Timely communication to the Executive Director and MCCDC Board of Directors and all required organizations of any serious incidents, issues, or concerns.
• Provide all required reports and information to government and funding source organizations.
• Keep informed about sociopolitical issues in the local, national, and global level relevant to the mission and operations of the Clubhouse and provide support and guidance to the Clubhouse as needed.
• Coordinate services and partnerships with various health, mental health, and county organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred but not required in social services, health, or business field.
• A minimum of three years managerial experience with continually increasing responsibilities in a Clubhouse of non-profit service organization.
• A clear understanding of compliance issues and accountability, ability to articulate member concerns, and a commitment to the values and beliefs of a Clubhouse program for people living with mental illness and disabilities.
• A demonstrable understanding of the International Standards for Clubhouse Programs and capacity to work effectively with consumers and their families and/or caregivers.
• Excellent fund development and writing skills and the ability to research, write and prepare effective proposals.
• Ability to work long and varied hours.
• A willingness to participate in the 3-week Clubhouse Training Program at a certified Training Base and to help attain and maintain International Clubhouse accreditation.
• Must practice empathic listening, humility, curiosity, and self-awareness, and be able to work collaboratively with people with varied personalities, disabilities, cultures, and interests.
• Must have capacity to lift 40 lbs. and assist disabled clients.
• Must have a Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and must be at least 25 years old to transport members in Empowerment Clubhouse vehicle(s) required.

Working Conditions

• General working conditions are in an active office environment. However, due to the multitasking nature of the position, standing for long periods of time, walking, lifting, and kneeling are physical requirements of the job. The EC Program Director is open to the Members and Staff when not in use for confidential meetings, as are all spaces in the Clubhouse.
• Periodic travel for training events and fundraising will be required.

The Program Specialist is responsible for the engagement of members, in all operational aspects of Clubhouse Atlanta, according to Clubhouse International model of psychiatric rehabilitation. STATEMENT OF DUTIES

• Work side by side with members in a manner consistent with the Clubhouse International model of psychiatric rehabilitation and the mission of Clubhouse Atlanta.

• Maintains enthusiasm, commitment, and belief in the Clubhouse International Standards.

• All Clubhouse Atlanta staff share employment, holiday, weekend, evening, and unit responsibilities.

• Participates in two-week Clubhouse International training and other Clubhouse International events.

Assistant Director

Job Responsibilities:

Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director and in partnership with other Clubhouse staff and the members we serve, the Assistant Director is involved in all aspects of the smooth and productive operations of the Clubhouse. The Assistant Director must be able to adapt to situations as they arise by possessing the capability and flexibility and quick thinking in order to address the daily multiplicity of activities and demands occurring in the operation of the Clubhouse including but not limited to:

Essential Functions:

• Supervise program staff and assure timely placement of members in transitional employment, supported employment and independent employment
• Responsible for assuring employment development goals are met by actively assuring that members are engaged in seeking and maintaining employment in conjunction with the employment unit generalist.
• Place or assign a generalist to provide absence coverage for members calling out from TEs.
• Represent Clubhouse in a professional manner at all times;
• Oversee development and promotion of employment/educational events in the community, often with employment generalist and members. Must become knowledgeable about clubhouse, its aims and its programs;
• Promote program development in accordance with the Clubhouse philosophy, as outlined in the International Standards for Clubhouses on which clubhouse accreditations are based;
• Work side by side with and engage members in a non-hierarchical manner, with respect to daily tasks, sharing in the daily operation of the Work Order Day in the units;
• Participate in the development and maintenance of meaningful work opportunities in units for members;
• Actively promote the development of members' aspirations regarding Clubhouse participation, employment, education, housing, and social activities;
• Assist in outreach for and communication with members who are absent from the Clubhouse;
• Carry a small caseload and assure that all documentation; case notes recovery plans pertaining to member and clubhouse activities are recorded appropriately and quantified as needed.
• Participate in education and resource development for Clubhouse members, by helping members find and apply for appropriate educational/employment opportunities
• Maintain communication at all levels of Clubhouse operations; Participate in social and recreational activities, including evening, weekend and holiday hours, when required. Participate in maintaining in the care and wellbeing of the Clubhouse facility.
• Prepare in conjunction with program director monthly statistical reports and preparation of program reviews as per DOHMH scope of services.
• Provide supervision to assigned generalist and assure training goals are set and completed

Job Description: A Clubhouse Social Practitioner holds a direct service position in a broad role, though candidates may also be asked to focus in an area of expertise as determined by the organization and member’s needs. Central to the Social Practitioner’s role is engaging members in all aspects of Clubhouse operation. This engagement is performed by helping members to experience a sense of belonging and being needed in the Clubhouse community, with a focus on strengths, talents, and interests. Staff will offer a positive, supportive relationship that helps promote hope, choice, wellness and recovery for participants while working together as colleagues and mentors. The primary role of the Clubhouse Staff Social Practitioner is to provide consistency within the work unit structure, ensuring an environment where opportunities for meaningful work and meaningful work-mediated relationships can thrive.

*Please note that during the COVID-19 Pandemic, California Clubhouse is facilitating a Hybrid Program meaning that work is facilitated virtually and in-person. •                Facilitate Supported, Independent and Entrepreneurial Employment, and Educational opportunities for members in the community, as needed.

Job Title: Clubhouse Generalist – FTE

Reports to: The Ora Clubhouse Director

Purpose:

This position is responsible for working in partnership with the Clubhouse Director and Assistant Director, other Clubhouse Staff and Clubhouse Members to achieve the goals of the Clubhouse community. As a member of the Clubhouse team, this position will assist the members in determining and achieving personal recovery goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:(other duties may be assigned):

This position requires adopting and promoting the International Standards for Clubhouse Programs model of recovery. The position will engage and assist the members to make changes that will empower them to successfully participate in the community with minimal negative impact from their mental health challenges.

A. Responsible for the overall organization of the Nutrition & Wellness Unit, which includes assisting members in menu planning, recipe development, food/supply ordering, meal preparation, program budgeting, cash and deposit handling, expense reporting, program development, developing and maintaining community partnerships, clean up and organization of work environment, filing, data collection, and other office related needs. Provide education and mentoring in the learning of job tasks, managing stress, and assessment of job skills to assist members in maximizing their potential.

B. Participate in and support the Employment and Operations Unit. Tasks may include: assisting members in developing an employment plan, drafting a cover letter and resume, mounting an effective job search and learning to interview effectively. After a member has obtained employment, provide timely and flexible supports, on the job site or in the Clubhouse, to help him or her maintain the job. Document activities, goals other contract deliverables achieved by the employment team and provide to funding agent and NAMI of Marion Count Board upon request.

C. Participate in other Generalist duties of the Clubhouse including, but not limited to, wellness initiatives, tours, orientation, community/social media outreach, and social programming. Participate in quality improvement activities, staff meetings, in-services and external trainings.

Work Ordered Day:

Assist the Director and Assistant Director to ensure that the work of the Clubhouse is generated by the Clubhouse in the operation and enhancement of the Clubhouse community. Encourage members to participate in the full work ordered day. Please note that in this position you do not complete the task for the member but work in partnership to complete the tasks of the units.

Assist with data collection and information technology management efforts:

As Director or Assistant Director requests, obtain financial and Clubhouse related data. Organize the information using Microsoft Office and Excel to ensure data can be retrieved in a timely manner. Assist in organizing physical and electronic Clubhouse records. All of these tasks should be completed with the assistance of member(s).

Assist with Transitional Employment Placement opportunities for members:

Provide opportunities for TEP regardless of success or failure in previous placements. Provide assistance to members through vocational support. Assist the Director and Assistant Director to ensure that the Clubhouse enables members to obtain or return to paid work through transitional, supported, and independent employment.

Qualifications:

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must have an understanding and commitment to the Clubhouse International Model of psychiatric rehabilitation and the underlying values and principles.

About the Job

• Train, model, and work side-by-side with clients in job and living skills in a community environment. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we follow strict hygiene and safety guidelines for reduced-capacity onsite services combined with virtual support groups.

• Ensures appropriate policies and procedures are developed, reviewed, revised, and implemented to maintain compliance with current CARF accreditation standards in program; health and safety; and risk management areas. • Ensures adherence to Adult Day Center Licensure requirements, staying up to date on regulatory changes

• Ensures appropriate services are provided to members in life and job skills such as social appropriateness, compensatory strategies, orientation and mobility in the community, employability and work behaviors, behavior and crisis management, specific job tasks and development of natural supports on job sites, in the home, and community

• Ensures adequate staffing for work units, employment and ancillary services through scheduling, cross training, and other expressions of teamwork of both paid staff and unpaid volunteers and interns.

• Hire, train, coach, evaluate, discipline and terminate staff as needed in collaboration with Executive Director

Job Title and Description

1. The title for the Employee will be the following: Resource Coordinator, Staff Generalist. The initial position responsibilities the Employee will be expected to perform are:

Position Responsibilities:

· Ensures member engagement with all Clubhouse opportunities, including planning, coordinating, and executing daily work alongside Clubhouse members.

· Maintain accurate financial records of the organization using QuickBooks.

· Maintain accurate records of activities of Pathfinder Clubhouse, analyze and provide reports on a variety of activities.

· Assisting members in accessing needed community services and supports while encouraging member’s self-advocacy.

· Fosters a recovery environment in which members feel wanted, needed and expected.

· Models positive relationships with staff, members, and the larger community.

· Maintains complete and detailed records consistent with agency standards, procedures and requirements for third party funding and accreditation agencies.

· Performs placement management duties for the Transitional Employment Program. These duties include training, absence coverage and maintaining relationships with community business partners.

· Must be able to attend out of state paid training of 2-3 weeks duration within 18 months of employment, as COVID allows.

SCOPE OF POSITION

Responsible for the planning, organization, and leadership of the organization’s operations, programs/ programming, financial management, and fundraising using appropriate delegation of duties. Networks with State and local officials around public policy and funding issues. Oversees and reports on the organization’s outcomes and activities for the Board of Directors.

Leads the organization’s marketing and community relations initiatives to facilitate increased public knowledge on issues of poverty and mental illness and inspire individuals to donate time, talent, and financially to the organization. 
Inspires the community and staff who have a heart for ministry to find ways at Breakthrough to help people living in poverty and/or living with severe mental illness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Maintain strong and interactive communication to update the Board of Directors on all issues impacting the organization, provide structure and encourage leadership support and attend Board and Executive meetings.
• As a member of the Nominating Committee, support the recruiting and orientation of new Board members.
• Overall responsibility for the ongoing financial management and for preparation/approval of annual budget as presented by the Finance Director.
• Project annual initiatives to assist with budget development and compliance.
• Oversight and engagement with all key stakeholders employed and impacted by programs and entity’s operations.
• Maintain and promote public contacts in the private/public community sectors to enhance the mission, awareness, and work of the organization, which include strong relationships with partnering social service agencies.
• Lead and support grant-writing process through concept-development, research of grant opportunities, writing and editing.
• Cultivate and develop relationships with new major donors and continue to work with existing donors.
• Acts as a member of the fundraising team to ensure success with event-fundraising team, and development and implementation of the annual fundraising plan.
• Provide public speaking engagement to include churches, community organizations and other venues about the Breakthrough program.
• Maintain contact with people living in poverty and/or mental illness to receive feedback on environmental stressors and solution-oriented program design.
• Encourage staff and members/clients to tell their stories of success in written and verbal format.
• Maintain membership and attendance in local and state policy and planning groups.
• Work with Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE) and mental health centers (MHCs) on Medicaid policy issues and changes to legislation.
• Develop new Medicaid contracts (i.e., One Care, Individual and Group Therapy, Clubhouse Medicaid code).
• Develop memoranda of agreement (MOA’s) and work with legal resources for clarifications and editing.
• Search for new contracting and grant opportunities, negotiate contracts and assist with applications.
• Consult on how to maintain a participatory leadership environment.
• Continue to promote kindness, laughter and joy in the community and workplace.
• Work with Clubhouse Coalition to develop Clubhouse programs in Kansas

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Master’s degree in related field preferred. Ideally, a combination of Business, LMSW, Psychiatric or Behavioral Health education and experience.

Prior Experience:

Minimum of five years’ experience in executive leadership of a nonprofit or for-profit organization preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of community projects to facilitate mental health initiatives
• Excellent communication and written skills, approachability, good listening, and organizational skills to promote the mission of Breakthrough Programs.
• Strong history of navigating organizational challenges, and the ability to make decisions and solve problems.
• Prior successful pursuit of fundraising activities and grant opportunities including both writing and administration.
• Must be able to work with a diverse group of people in a team setting. Facilitate communication and team-building to support problem solving and win-win solutions.
• Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule, allowing for possible early morning, evening, or weekend activities.
• Must be able to handle crisis situations and be comfortable working with community resources.

• The work environment is usually a well-lit, environmentally-controlled indoor environment with a moderate level of noise. The Executive Director serves as the organization’s chief executive, fundraiser, friend raiser, external advocate, and program leader. EXPECTED QUALIFICATIONS

Employment Staff Responsibilities

• Foster an atmosphere of belief in all member’s ability to work

• Assist members with understanding how their benefits will be affected by working including SSDI, SSI. Food Stamps, Medicaid, SCLP, Section 8, etc. Employment staff will utilize onsite Benefits Specialists when needed.
• Complete the Career Profile for all members interested in SE. The Profile will be updated with each new job experience
• Responsible to assure that members have first contact with employer within 30 days of completion of career profile.
• Discuss member’s preference for disclosure of psychiatric status to employers, including possible costs and benefits and specific information to be disclosed.
• Develop employment objectives to be included in Independence Center’s Individual Plan.
• Coordinate services with family and other providers including BJC Behavioral Health, physicians, therapists, case workers, Voc Rehab, and other agencies
• Conducts job development and job search activities directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of the members staff are working with.
• Build relationships with employers by conducting at least six employer contacts each week to learn about local businesses and employer needs, to talk about specific members and Independence Center’s employment programs.
• Spends at least 65% or more of total work hours in the community engaging members, contacting employers for job development and providing follow-along supports.
• Provides individualized follow-along supports to assist members in maintaining employment. Provides frequent face-to-face supports during the first month of a new job and at least monthly after working steadily.
• Provides education and support to employers as agreed upon by the member – this may include negotiating job accommodations and follow-along contact with the employer.
• Provides outreach as necessary to members who are disengaged including phone, job and home visits.
• Function as a liaison with Vocational Rehabilitation.

Unit Staff Responsibilities

Work Ordered Day:

• Build genuine relationships through working side-by side
• Identify individual members’ strengths and talents and offer opportunities for meaningful work.
• Assure work is visible, accessible and sufficient to engage all members all day in all aspects of the Clubhouse.
  • Support, encourage, redirect and creatively involve all members in the clubhouse
  • Assume bottom line responsibility for engaging members in the successful completion of ALL unit work.
  • Facilitate and participate daily in unit meetings, TE meetings, Clubhouse meetings, and philosophy/policy meetings-assuring full member participation
  • Be aware of members not in attendance and ensure effective outreach
  • Assist members with creating and updating a meaningful plan that has measurable goals. Partner with member’s to achieve their goals.
  • Complete weekly notes on time and with good quality.
  • Be responsive to feedback from others: member, coworkers, Team Leads etc…

Community Support:

• Partner with members to achieve positive outcomes in the following areas, including but not limited to: employment, education, housing, social, legal, substance abuse, physical health, mental health.
  • Assist members with identifying and accessing benefits including SSDI, SSI. Food Stamps, Medicaid, SCLP, Section 8, etc.
  • Proactively address needs before situations become crises.
  • Support member through crisis situations by identifying the seriousness of the problem, accessing needed services, assisting with hospitalization, and ensuring follow-up.
  • Coordinate services with other care providers including BJC Behavioral Health, physicians, therapists, case workers, Vocation Rehabilitation, and other agencies.

Employment:

Wellness:

• Create a culture of wellness by educating, motivating and celebrating.

Partner with members to make lifestyle changes such as healthy eating, physical activity and tobacco cessation.

Complete Wellness Coach training and fulfill responsibilities.

Social:

• Work with members to plan and promote special social events on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Connect with members outside of the Work Ordered Day by truly participating in activities.
• Broaden relationships, be yourself, create a festive atmosphere and have fun.
